About Precious Poses | Weddings by Lora

Wow! What a year! We are closing in on our very first year shooting weddings. I started out a little nervous and not too sure of what exactly I was getting myself into. But man oh man, have I found a new love! There is nothing more exciting and rewarding then watching two people promise their love to one another. I really do have the BEST job in the world.

My love for photography began as soon as I entered the darkroom my sophomore year of high school. There was nothing more therapeutic then running my prints through the chemicals and watching what I once saw through my viewfinder appear on my paper. I continued shooting film and developing in the darkroom through college until I started my family. Digital has allowed me the time to do even more of what I love. Almost 10 years later I am still that art-nerd I was in high school :).

Grab your favorite drink. Kick back and take a look around. Leave me a comment and let me know you stopped by. I cannot wait to hear from you!

Kevin + Ava

August 19th, 2011

Both Kevin and Ava live on the east coast but made the trek to Denver to share their wedding day with their friends and family. The weather was perfect and the view was amazing (check out the last photo!). I couldn’t have asked for a better couple and their amazing friends :) Enjoy the photos…

Angie + Tony | 7.1.11

July 18th, 2011

From the moment I met Angie & Tony I knew their wedding day was going to be a blast! Downtown Denver is one of my favorite places to shoot and both Angie and Tony made my job so easy. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves, enjoy!

Jon + Noel | 6.17.11

June 30th, 2011

As I get closer to shooting my last wedding on Colorado I realize how lucky I’ve been over the last year, especially with Noel and Jon’s beautiful Evergreen wedding. It was a little stormy on the way up with some pretty awesome dark clouds, but it didn’t rain on us once! Noel and Jon are perfect for one another, it was blast documenting your day for you and we wish you the best on your new life together!

A huge thank you goes out to Brian MacStay for second shooting with me!

I love having a 2nd photographer with me at weddings! It always so cool to see what 2 images/perspectives come from the same shot!

K + M | 5.07.11

June 1st, 2011

I’ve been waiting and waiting to post this blog entry, it has been one of my most memorable weddings to date. I was able to travel to beautiful New Mexico and spend a perfect evening with Kristin and Matt. We were surrounded by their closest friends and family and the day went beautifully. Matt and Kristin have a connection that I don’t think I’ve seen in a LONG time. It is amazing and a huge honor to be able to capture that for them! I hope you two had an AMAZING time in Australia on your honeymoon!

Lisa + Marc

November 2nd, 2010

When Lisa and I met for the first time we talked about what we’d do if it snowed on her wedding day, because well, it typically snows by now. Colorado proved us wrong and gave us some of the best weather we could have asked for. Lisa was nothing short of beautiful and Marc was in awe of his gorgeous wife to be walking down the aisle, he couldn’t take his eyes off her the entire day. Everything from the flowers, to the kilts was perfection. Thank you so much again Lisa and Marc, what an amazing and beautiful husband and wife you are. :)

I am IN LOOOOVE with this image!  Lisa, you are beautiful!

Kim + James

October 12th, 2010

It was 70 degrees, calm and beautiful. A perfect day to get married! Kim and James wedding was nothing short of amazing. I shot their engagement photos last November so this has been a long time coming and so so so worth the wait. You are two of the most genuine people I’ve ever met and I know I say this with each wedding, but I am so honored to have been a part of it. Thank you again to Renee. You’re a rockstar ;)

We met at The Marriott and photographed the girls getting ready….

Kim had 2 pairs of shoes for her wedding day. I love that she chose purple chucks for dancing all night, they fit Kim’s personality perfectly!

After everyone was done getting ready we headed up to Genesee Park in the mountains where Kim and James saw each other for the first time and exchanged their gifts.

Next we headed up to 3 Trees Chapel and watched Kim and James exchange their vows :) The chapel was so beautiful. The light was coming in perfectly through the windows that let in views of the foothills. I have never seen a more perfect place to marry.

Last minute touch ups :)

Mr. & Mrs. !!!!

Then it was back to the Marriott for the reception!

The toasts were so heart felt and honest. Its so great to be able to be a part of the whole experience, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room.

First dance :)

Father daughter dance…

Everyone danced the entire night, it was a blast! Here are a few of my favorite dancing shots from the night…

Laura + Matt

September 24th, 2010

I was able to spend a few hours with Matt and Laura on their wedding day a few weeks ago and I couldn’t have thought of a better way to spend it! What a close knit and happy family. Laura and Matt’s friends were there to celebrate and kept everyone laughing and having a good time. I had a wonderful day with you two, capturing those moments that you’ll cherish for the rest of your lives. Thank you again :)

Katie + Will

September 16th, 2010

Where do I start?!? Renee and I headed out to Kiowa and we had no idea what a fun day was ahead of us. Every little detail was perfect and from the heart. Thank you so much Will and Katie, we had a blast with you two and wish you the best! Now, for our favorite photos of the day…..

I love that the two of them decide to go the ‘untraditional’ route and see each other before the ceremony. Will was all tears and you could see in his face how beautiful his wife to be looked.

After the group shots we headed over to the ceremony site. Katie and Will really made the entire wedding reflect them and I love that. They were married in a big field with their closest friends and family sitting on hay bails watching. It was so beautiful!

Katie and Will LOVE kids and it was so nice to see so many kids there to watch and be a part of their special day :)

Will seeing Katie walk down the aisle :)

The kiss!!!

After the ceremony the light was so incredible and were able to capture some gorgeous shots of the two of them.

Everyone then headed out to their reception. I LOVE LOVE LOVE when everyone wants to dance and have fun! Will and Katie’s friends and family are some of the most genuine and happy people I’ve ever met. Thank you so much for including us in your incredible day!

Amber + Ben

August 24th, 2010

Ben and Amber had such an incredible day, and as always I am SO happy to have been a part of it!  A HUGE HUGE HUGE thank you goes to amazingly talented Renee of Quest Photography.  Renee and I had so much fun with Amber and Ben and their bridal party.  They were up for anything, excited the entire time (even when we made them take just one more :) .  Some of my all time favorite images have come from this wedding.  Enjoy the photos!

Amber’s hair piece was amazing!

Dad giving Ben the thumbs up :) The ceremony was amazing and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the church.  Amber and her Dad have such a great connection, you can just see the love for his daughter.

….and then some were bored to sleep ;)

Mr. & Mrs. Ford!!!!

Their little family :)

Bouquet and garter toss!

We also did our very FIRST photo booth!  Everyone had a blast dressing up and we caught some hilarious photos, we can’t wait to share more!
